The Opportunity:

As our Director of Tax, you'll lead a highly skilled team to manage the preparation and review of complex tax returns. You'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient collaboration of onshore and offshore teams to produce superior results. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role with significant upside including equity or profit-sharing potential while helping to shape the future of a forward-thinking CPA firm.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a hybrid team (onshore and offshore) to deliver 5,000 high-quality tax returns for HNW and UHNW clients with multi-entity and multi-state filings.

Utilize UltraTax CS, Accounting CS, SurePrep, Planner CS, Fixed Assets CS, and other Thomson Reuters tools to streamline tax preparation and planning.

Oversee the use of advanced technology to gather source documents, manage tax return preparation, conduct A2 level reviews, and collaborate with customer tax managers for final review.

Ensure e-file signatures are gathered and returns are filed accurately and on time.

Build and mentor a high-performing tax team, fostering growth and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver exceptional client experiences.

Play a key role in refining and enhancing our tax processes, leveraging technology for efficiency.

Achieve a 55-65% Gross Margin or higher

Explain the business to prospective customers after they've been screened by the VP of Revenue.


What We're Looking For:

Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in tax, with a focus on high net worth entrepreneurs with a lot of complexity. Previous experience managing hybrid teams is essential to deliver on profitability goals.

Technology Skills: Expertise with Thomson Reuters applications (UltraTax CS, Accounting CS, SurePrep, Planner CS, Fixed Assets CS) is required.

Leadership: Proven track record of leading, managing, and developing high-performing tax teams.

Qualifications: CPA required. Additional credentials such as an MST or JD/LLM in Taxation are a plus.

Strategic Mindset: Ability to think strategically and implement efficient tax solutions for complex client needs.

Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
